Why Animals Get Sick
Not other than the humans, animals too get sick at times. It is quite 'normal' for them to fall sick as there are several potential dangers in this big bad world. Pets are like our children and have to be treated with great care. There are many reasons for why animals get sick. Have a look--
- The animals are inquisitive explorers who love to check out what is there in the overflowing garbage. They love to actually reach up to the toilet bowl and have a drink before you will catch them. Animals love to have smell and poke their mouth in the garbage to explore what delicious human tidbits may be there. There is no doubt in the fact that these things are severely hazardous for them. The garbage food remnants may get real toxic. The best cautionary measure is to keep them away from all the garbage is to keep the lids of your garbage closed up tight.
- Your pet may come in contact with the pesticides or herbicides or antifreeze or household cleaning products to fall sick instantly. You should make sure that these solutions are stored safely off from their reach after use. You can wash out all the extra waste that is spilled out here and there after use immediately.
- Make sure that all the electrical cords are kept firmly covered, keep them unplugged when you are not using them. These wires can give them shock or cause burns. If you have little puppy or kitten, you should keep all the cords running under the carpets and behind the cabinets or the bulky furniture, the young pets just enjoy chewing the wires and cords.
- If you make use of a toilet bowl cleaner that is there in the toilet to clean the flush, always keep it with the lid down. Dogs particularly love to drink it from the toilet due to their some bizarre taste sense that only they have. The chemicals present in the cleaner can definitely make poison in the body or kill.
- Some antibiotics make humans and their animals sick. They in fact disturb the usual population of salutary microbes in their gastro intestinal region of all the animals. These advantageous bacteria are actually the first defensive line against most of the diseases. When without these medicines the animal becomes more liable to several other infections. The antibiotics make the immune system low by reducing the number of circulation of the white blood cells.
- The antibiotics lower the ability of the animal to fight the infections. There are some antibiotics, for example chloramphenicol, which can make unrecoverable damage to the marrow. There are several bacteria that may evolve immunity to the effects of antibiotics. The resistance can actually be made to the other bacteria.
